LINDS + MIKE
WASHINGTON OAKS STATE GARDEN ENGAGEMENT SESSION
Every love story starts somewhere — sometimes quietly, sometimes unexpectedly — and for Linds + Mike, their beginning was one only fate could've written. A simple note, a shared smile, and suddenly their paths aligned in the most life-changing way.
Their first date was on a “warm” May afternoon. What was supposed to be a quick bite turned into something more. Neither wanted the date to end, so they took a walk around town — forgetting for a moment that it was nearly 100 degrees outside. By the end, Mike was practically soaked in sweat, but smiling all the same. That day sparked something neither of them had felt before.
From there, their life together has been filled with growth, deep connection, and more joy than they ever imagined. Mike had been planning something unforgettable — a proposal she deserved.
For her birthday, he surprised her with a trip to her favorite island: Aruba. What she didn’t know was that he had been quietly waiting for the perfect moment — a moment that felt like magic.
That moment came on November 11 (11/11), a number that’s long held deep spiritual meaning for Linds. On their last evening there, Mike asked if she wanted to walk to a more secluded beach. As they stood together, waves gently rolling in, he pulled out his phone and said, “Look at that — it’s 11:11. Make a wish.” She closed her eyes, smiling, and made her wish.
When she opened her eyes, he was kneeling beside her, holding the ring with tears in his eyes and a heart full of love.
Yes. A thousand times yes!
It was thoughtful, heartfelt, and wildly romantic — beyond anything she had ever dreamed. The kind of moment you replay in your heart forever.
We had the absolute honor of photographing their engagement session at Washington Oaks State Park, and it was a dream from start to finish. We started in the gardens, where Linds + Mike giggled their way through the photos, quickly warming up to the cameras — and to us. The way they look at each other is something special. There’s a comfort and playfulness between them that’s just beautiful to witness.
After exploring the gardens, we made our way to the beach. The coquina rocks took them by surprise — they were in awe. As the sun lowered in the sky, Linds and Mike stood close, embracing, sharing hopes and visions for their future. It was the kind of moment that doesn’t need to be staged — pure, real, and filled with meaning.
Linds + Mike, we cannot wait to celebrate you this Sunday at the Fountain of Youth in St. Augustine, surrounded by your closest family and friends. It’s going to be a beautiful celebration of a love that’s been nine years in the making — and we can’t wait to see them glow with joy and happiness. See you soon!
xoxo,
Kristina + Jerico
