Washington Oaks State Garden Engagement Session | Sydney + Shawn

Hey friends, yall know im a sucker for a great 1st date story and Sydney’s and Shawn’s is at the top of my list. And the best part is that it wasnt an extravagant 1st date. It wasn’t expensive. I love it so much because it was so simple and sweet. And its something they can continue to do for the rest of their lives.

You guys ready for this?!?

Their first date was…… a trip to Target!! “I had to get a candle and just needed a girl’s opinion! “

However, prior to asking Sydney to join him on a trip to Target, Shawn had asked her out. “Shawn asked me on dates.. which I always turned down... but errands- especially errands to target.. I couldnt say no to that! But the Target run became more of a date & slowly we became each others “errand buddy’

“Shawn was smart- he knew I would keep seeing him for innocent errands so this man came up with as many errands as possible!!”

How sweet and genuine is that?!? OOOOO Sydney, i just got the best idea!!! You & Shawn in your wedding attire, the day after your wedding, IN TARGET!!!!! PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!! first date —-> married!

Anyways, back to their engagement session. We shot their engagement session at Washington Oaks State Garden in Palm Coast Florida and let me tell you, Florida was really showing off that day. From the beautiful sunshine to the breath taking sunset, their session was perfect!

We stared in the garden and made our way to the beach, which you’ll notice is different than most beaches in Florida, at least the Jacksonville area. This beach has large beautiful coquina rocks which really give a great texture and color to the beach.

Because Sydney + Shawn are so fun, they brought not one, not two but 5 bottles of champagne.. and thats not to drink, it was all for the photos. At first they took turns popping a bottle and then…. then the fun started. Each person had a bottle in hand and on the count of THREE, they started spraying each other as they walked closer and closer to each other until finally they kissed, soaking wet!!

P.S. If you plan on doing this, please be careful not to get it in your eyes, it does hurt.
