MICHELLE + DAVID

Magnolia Ave + Historic St. Augustine Engagement Session

This weekend, Michelle and David are getting married — and we’re just so excited we can hardly stand it. From the moment we met these two, we knew their love was something special. Genuine, joyful, full of warmth. Getting to photograph their engagement and be a small part of this season has been such a gift.

They’re both proud University of Florida grads and loyal Gator fans, which is where their story really begins. Their first date was on a game day, of course — watching the Gators play Vanderbilt. Now, anyone who knows David knows a Florida loss isn’t exactly his favorite way to spend an afternoon… . But despite the score, something meaningful began that day. A spark, the beginning of something unforgettable. A feeling that maybe, just maybe, they’d found something real.

Now... are you ready for how David proposed? It’s every girl’s dream.

Michelle was on a girls’ trip to Paris with her mom and sister — a mix of sightseeing and seeing Taylor Swift ( so jealous!) Little did she know, David was planning a grand surprise. A few days into the trip, he flew across the ocean to join them, and in front of the Eiffel Tower, he got down on one knee and asked Michelle to be his forever. He even hired a photographer to capture the moment (major points, David!), and they celebrated with dinner inside the Eiffel Tower at Jules Verne, toasting to the start of forever in the most romantic city in the world. wow!

We got to photograph their engagement session in historic St. Augustine on a chilly, golden January day. We started on Magnolia Avenue — a street that feels like it was made for love stories, with its winding canopy of moss-draped oak trees. Michelle wore the sweetest white dress and tan booties, and David looked so handsome in his navy suit. Even though it was freezing, Michelle braved the cold like a champ, coat on for most of the session but happily slipping it off here and there so we could catch those soft, glowy portraits that are truly some of our favorites.

Then we headed into the heart of downtown, where we stopped for photos in front of their wedding venue — the stunning Lightner Museum. We all took a little breath standing there, realizing the next time we’d be in that spot together, it would be their wedding day. Cue the butterflies.

After a quick outfit change into something a bit cozier (thank goodness), we strolled the cobblestone streets, caught the magic of Nights of Lights, and laughed our way through the rest of the session. David kept Michelle warm between kisses and twirls, and it just felt like watching two best friends completely in love — the kind of love that makes everything feel lighter.

Michelle and David, we are so excited for you to officially become husband and wife this weekend! And oh, we cannot wait to meet Charlie — something tells us he’s going to be a total star. See you soon!

xoxo
