Kathryn and Zack’s love story is living proof that when it’s meant to be, it will be. ✨ Their journey has taken them through different seasons, cities, and even a few years apart — but somehow, life kept finding ways to bring them back to each other. From the moment we met them, we could just feel how genuine their connection is — effortless, full of laughter, and rooted in something really special. 💛
They first met back in college at the University of Kentucky — Go Cats! — where they shared the same Psychology 101 class. It didn’t take long before they found themselves sitting next to each other, laughing, and realizing this connection was something deeper. They spent their college years growing together, navigating life’s ups and downs, and building the kind of bond that would stand the test of time.
After graduation, life took them in different directions. They parted ways, but fate clearly had other plans. Fast forward a few years (and through a pandemic!), Kathryn found herself running into some of Zack’s old fraternity brothers in Nashville — and not long after, Zack reached out. Two years apart vanished like no time at all. That spark they once had? Still there. And before long, Zack was making the move to Nashville, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Fast forward again to 2024 — Zack proposed to Kathryn during a family trip to Amelia Island, surrounded by so much love and excitement (and we’re still not sure who was more thrilled… them, their families, or their adorable pup, Franklin 🐾).
Speaking of Franklin — he absolutely stole the show during their St. Augustine engagement session! We started at the Lightner Museum, and I swear Franklin knew he was the star. He was literally posing for the camera — head tilts, smiles, the works. It was the cutest thing ever.
The city was packed for Nights of Lights, but somehow, when Kathryn and Zack were together, it felt like the world around us just disappeared. They had this sweet way of tuning everything else out — like it was just the four of us (well, five, we gotta count Franklin!) wandering the cobblestone streets together.
We strolled through a few of the prettiest little cobblestone alleys in historic downtown, tucked away between twinkling lights and ivy-covered walls, grabbing the most romantic shots along the way. Then we made our way toward the bay, and that’s when the weather decided to do something wild — the fog started to roll in, soft and dreamy, wrapping the city in this cozy, romantic haze. You could see their venue, The Treasury on the Plaza behind them with parts of it peeking through the fog. It added such a timeless, cinematic feel to their photos… like something straight out of a love story movie.
From there, we wandered through the Plaza de la Constitución, where the trees were covered in thousands of sparkling lights. We stopped by Flagler College, glowing beautifully, and then circled back to the Lightner to see it all lit up for the evening. By the time we finished, we ended the night back in the plaza — wrapped in golden lights and laughter.
Nothing could have made this night more perfect. Kathryn and Zack (and of course, Franklin!) were absolute naturals. Their session was filled with joy, laughter, and so much love.
We had the best time exploring downtown with them and truly cannot wait to celebrate their wedding this weekend. Something tells me it’s going to be an unforgettable day — full of warmth, joy, and the kind of love that makes everyone around them smile. ✨
