Historic St. Augustine + Vilano Beach Engagement Session
This weekend, in the heart of the nation's oldest city, Kayla and Sean will promise forever to each other at the iconic Lightner Museum in St. Augustine, Florida. And after spending some time with them during their engagement session, we can confidently say: this love story is as timeless and beautiful as the city itself.
Kayla and Sean first met at Syracuse University (Go Orange!), and their connection sparked quickly. Their first date was a fraternity formal at a bowling alley—fun, lighthearted, and full of promise. As college students, their favorite date nights were spent at Margaritaville over Landshark Lagers and coconut shrimp, followed by a $5 Tuesday movie. It was simple, sweet, and perfectly them. Their relationship deepened over time, grounded in long conversations and a connection neither wanted to let go of. What began as college date nights turned into a deep connection, and eventually, a love that feels equal parts best friends and soulmates.
When we met for their engagement session, we started right at their wedding venue, the Lightner Museum. They looked amazing—Sean in a tailored blue dress shirt and navy pants, Kayla glowing in a silky, light blue dress with a side slit and strappy block heels. The light hit just right, the historic building stood tall behind them, and they fit into the scene like they’d always belonged there together.
From there, we wandered the cobblestone streets of downtown St. Augustine, watching them simply enjoy each other’s presence. They hugged, kissed, laughed—and just had fun. As we moved through the city, their excitement about the upcoming wedding was written all over their faces.
Then we headed to the place where they feel most at home: the beach. The moment their feet touched the sand, any lingering nerves melted away. This was their happy place. The waves, the breeze, the golden sunset—it all set the perfect backdrop for a full-circle moment: a sunset stroll on the beach with Landshark beers, just like their early date nights. It was nostalgic, meaningful, and 100% them.
Before we wrapped, we asked them to share with eachother what the next 5 years would look like for them. Their smiles said everything. You can tell they’re dreaming of a life full of love, laughter, maybe some more beach walks, and always—always—being by each other’s side.
Kayla and Sean, thank you for letting us be a part of your story. We can’t wait to capture every sweet moment of your wedding day.
